"The Timedivers are without doubt one of the most authentic and 'moreish' bands I've ever seen!"

THE FIRST TIME I saw the Timedivers was by invitation. I grudgingly turned up at what I thought would be 'a regular small-town pub band'.

How wrong first pre-judgments can be - it's often what starts wars!

I was immediately impressed with not just the appearance and ambiance the band created, but also with the repertoire and quality of their own material.

The lead guitarist held the whole thing together like a glue, with a rich array of riffs and leads. The drums were 'just enough' - never overpowering (which is often the failing feature of many pub bands) but always present and thumping in your chest.

The bass guitarist held the underlying structure together, and could be heard from the toilet! (Just how it should be!)

As far as vocals go, it was refreshing to see an 'honest' vocalist who utilised his own vocal range rather than trying to emulate his idols. It was also a welcome sight that the vocalist had a great sense of humour and symbiance with the crowd.

After over an hour of being bombarded with music ranging from Guns and Roses to Muddy Waters (not to mention the fantastic rendition of Hendrix's 'Red House'), you are left exhausted from clapping, cheering and enthusing. It's been a while since I saw a local band get a standing ovation.

A must-see. Well done, boys.
